Product Description
The Open Cover Screw for Narrow Implant H2.1 is a precision-engineered component designed to securely seal the internal connection of narrow dental implants while allowing controlled access during the healing phase of two-stage implantation procedures. It is specifically developed for implants featuring an internal hex connection H2.1 with 1-72 UNF internal thread, ensuring accurate fit and reliable clinical performance.
The screw features a 3 mm diameter body, designed to effectively cover and protect the internal hex of the implant while maintaining accessibility when required.
Manufactured from medical-grade titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V, ASTM F136), the component provides excellent biocompatibility, strength, and corrosion resistance. Its smooth external surface minimizes tissue irritation and supports optimal healing conditions.

Intended Use
The Open Cover Screw H2.1 is intended for temporary placement in narrow dental implants to:
- Seal and protect the internal implant connection

Indications
- Use with implants featuring internal hex connection H2.1 (Narrow Platform)
- Suitable for two-stage implantation procedures
- Recommended when simplified implant exposure is desired
Preparation Before Use
- Supplied non-sterile
- Must be sterilized before use in an autoclave at: 135°C (274°F)
- Inspect the component for any damage or contamination prior to use
Selection Criteria
Select the appropriate pin length based on gingival thickness: available pin lengths: 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm
After suturing:
- The pin should be positioned within the gingival tissue
- If the pin protrudes excessively: replace with a shorter version or adjust according to clinical requirements
Clinical Procedure
- Ensure the implant is properly placed and stable
- Clean and dry the internal implant connection
- Insert the Open Cover Screw into the implant
- Tighten using 1.25 mm Allen key (431238)
- Suture the surgical site, ensuring correct positioning of the pin
- Allow healing according to standard clinical protocol
Implant Uncovering
At the stage of implant exposure:
The protruding pin serves as a guide for locating the implant
Use:
- Allen key (431238) for removal
- Gingival Punch (471230) for soft tissue access
This allows precise and minimally invasive uncovering of the implant.
Post-Placement Care
- Monitor healing of surrounding soft tissue
- Maintain proper oral hygiene
- Follow standard clinical protocols during the healing phase
Removal
- Remove the Open Cover Screw using 1.25 mm Allen key (431238)
- Proceed with placement of healing abutment or prosthetic components
