Product Description
The Knife Hand for Open Cover Screw is a precision surgical instrument designed for atraumatic access to osseointegrated implants during the second surgical stage of modified two-stage implantation procedures.
The instrument is intended for use together with:
- Open Cover Screw (720838, etc.)
- Hollow Hex Key 1.25 mm (431238)
- Gum Punch (471230)
The system allows atraumatic implant opening without the need for surgical incision, flap elevation, or suturing during the second surgical stage.
The open cover screw is manufactured from medical titanium alloy Ti6Al4V ASTM F136 and features:
- Smooth outer surface
- 1-72 UNF fixation thread
- 1.25 mm hexagonal pin
- Pin length from 2 mm to 6 mm
The sharp upper pin allows identification of the implant location through soft tissue palpation after healing.

4. Implant Localization
- During the second surgical stage, locate the sharp pin of the open cover screw through soft tissue palpation.
5. Atraumatic Implant Opening
- Use the Gum Punch (471230) together with the Knife Hand for Open Cover Screw and Hollow Hex Key (431238).
- Remove the gingival tissue above the implant together with the open cover screw.
6. Prosthetic Stage
- Following implant opening, implant prosthetic procedures may begin immediately on the same day.
