Intended Use
The Titanium Bone Pin 5 mm is intended for fixation of barrier membranes and stabilization of bone graft materials in dental and maxillofacial surgical procedures. It provides secure anchorage during guided bone regeneration (GBR) and related treatments.
Indications
- Fixation of barrier membranes
- Stabilization of bone graft materials
- Use in guided bone regeneration (GBR)
- Dental implantology and maxillofacial surgery
Contraindications
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to titanium
- Do not use in cases of insufficient bone support
- Not intended for permanent fixation
Preparation Before Use
- Supplied non-sterile
- Must be sterilized before use in an autoclave at 135°C (274°F)
- Inspect the bone pin for any damage or contamination
Required Instruments
- Surgical mallet or appropriate insertion tool
- Optional: pilot drill depending on bone density
Clinical Procedure
- Prepare the surgical site according to standard clinical protocols
- Position the membrane or graft material at the treatment area
- If required, create a pilot hole depending on bone density
- Insert the Titanium Bone Pin 5 mm through the membrane into the bone
- Apply controlled force to secure the pin in place
- Verify stable fixation of the membrane or graft
Post-Placement Care
