The Titanium Parallel / Depth Guide (451630) is a precision surgical instrument designed for accurate determination of implant osteotomy depth and drilling parallelism during dental implant procedures. The instrument is used during surgical preparation of the implant osseous lodge to assist clinicians in evaluating implant positioning before continuation of the drilling protocol.
After preparation of the implant osteotomy with the First Pilot Drill (401820) to a depth of 8 mm, the Titanium Parallel / Depth Guide is inserted into the prepared bone bed for radiographic and visual evaluation. The instrument allows clinicians to perform periapical (aiming) or panoramic radiographic examination to verify implant positioning and angulation prior to further osteotomy preparation.
The working part of the guide incorporates precise 1 mm thread step markings that allow highly accurate assessment of:
- Osteotomy depth
- Distance to anatomical structures
- Distance to the nerve canal
- Position relative to adjacent teeth
- Position relative to neighboring implants
